Slagelse Lied

In the winter of 1997-98, I visited the small seaside town of Slagelse in Denmark.
	Winter brings a stillness and ignites creativity. On Lilian's baby grand piano, I started a simple melody. Excitedly I asked for a piece of paper to scribble it down.
Claus was quite fond of Grieg’s Solvej’s Lied. In many ways this instrumental piece reflects the simple, *quiet, but sad* reflection I had that winter in his home town.
