Bon Journal

General anaesthesia

The nurse and a surgeon's assistant walked with me to a different floor. They put me on a bed and rolled me into the room next to the operating room.

The anaethetist's assistant introduced herself and prepared me for the injections. The anaethetist, now in surgical uniform and no longer in the business suit he wore earlier, appeared.

He injected something into my arm.

Then I asked,"When will I fall asleep?"

As he took out a bigger needle to inject into my arm, he replied,"No sooner than this injection is completed."

Indeed, by the time I woke up, I noticed that the clock hand had moved 30 minutes.

"When is the operation?" I asked.

Another nurse replied,"It's over. You're in the recovery room now."
